The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Flutter Of Wings arrived in 2025 as part of The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line, a fruity floral built around three deliberate notes. Perfumer Mahsam Raza composed this one as a riff on the airy sweetness category. It's a small composition, and that restraint is the point. One fruit, one flower, one sweetness. Nothing competing for attention, nothing trying to prove itself. The raspberry nectar announces itself with a bright, almost playful tartness, the kind of fruit that recalls crushed berries on a cool fingertip rather than anything cooked down or jammy. Then the iris drifts in with a soft, suede-textured powder that smooths every sharp edge the fruit left behind.
Most fruity florals drown themselves in sugar or pile on accords until the original idea vanishes. This one stays narrow. Raspberry nectar, iris, vanilla. The trick is letting each one have its own minute of the spotlight without letting the others crash the scene. The raspberry arrives first with that bright, almost tart freshness, the kind of fruit note that feels plucked rather than processed. Then the iris moves in, powdery and soft, giving the composition a backbone that keeps the sweetness from tipping into candy territory.
The evolution
The opening lands bright and almost playful. Raspberries, but not the jammy kind. Think of the scent of crushed berries on a fingertip, slightly cool, slightly tart. That first five minutes is the loudest the fragrance gets, and it's still a hush. By the ten-minute mark, the fruit starts to fold inward, and iris steps forward. Not dusty iris, not the grandma-sachet kind. A cleaner, almost suede-textured powder that softens every edge the raspberry made. The vanilla arrives gradually through the second hour, not as a wave but as a warmth that settles into the iris. It doesn't sweeten. It comforts. By hour three, what remains is that vanilla-iris haze, warm and slightly creamy, sitting close to skin. The raspberry is a memory now, just a hint of fruit underneath the powder, the way a melody lingers after the instruments stop.
Cultural impact
Flutter Of Wings arrives as a 2025 release within The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line, and it reflects a broader appetite for compositions that feel light, wearable, and easy to share across different settings. Rather than piling on accords, this one narrows the field to raspberry nectar, iris, and vanilla, and that brevity gives the scent a clean, modern character. The raspberry leads with a bright, candied openness that reads instantly familiar, almost nostalgic in its sweetness, but the iris quickly steps in to add a powdery, suede-like sophistication that keeps things grounded.
