Henrik Lestréus designed Fröjd around a single premise: the cherry as Swedish symbol. In Swedish history and literature, cherries represent true success, wealth earned, hardship overcome. Released in 2019 as part of Svensk Parfym's expanding collection, Fröjd (Swedish for 'delight') is an invitation to reconsider what cherry can be. What makes the composition work is the tension between sweetness and restraint. Cherry on its own can tip into confectionery, Lestréus counters with dry woody notes and vetiver's earthy bitterness, pulling the fruit back from the edge.
