    Solférino Paris arrived in the fragrance landscape in 2025 as an in-house brand from Interparfums SA, the French perfume group that manages licensing agreements for major fashion houses including Montblanc,蕉乐园, and later, the Goutal house. The decision to develop an owned niche brand marked a strategic expansion for Interparfums, which historically built its business on licensed collaborations. Victoria Scalia, speaking on behalf of the group, explained that the project grew from inspiration drawn from the Solférino building itself, a property described as full of history in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Rather than launching under an inherited name or acquired heritage, Interparfums chose to build Solférino Paris from scratch, naming it after the building that housed the project during its development. The house draws its creative identity from the Left Bank, a neighborhood long associated with writers, artists, and intellectuals who shaped Parisian cultural life.
