Why it exists.
The beginning
Launched in 2012 as a limited-edition release within the For Her collection, this version was composed by Aurélien Guichard. The Delicate edition posed a quiet question: what happens when you soften the architecture, pull back the projection, and let a few quieter materials speak first? Rather than reinventing the wheel, the composition refines the formula, easing the volume on the signature warmth and inviting a more restrained cast of ingredients into the foreground. Fig and osmanthus rise to the top of the bill, supported by the familiar base of amber, musk, and patchouli that defines the broader For Her range. The result is a composition that keeps the family resemblance intact while offering a distinctly hushed reading of it.
Fig is the curveball here. In Delicate, fig and osmanthus take the lead, bringing a creamy sweetness that reads more skin-like than fruity, almost milky in the way it settles onto the skin. The osmanthus lends its apricot-skin and leather-curl character, a note that smells almost edible without tipping into sugar. Patchouli grounds the structure but stays polite, contributing depth without drawing attention to itself. The musk is still present, just de-emphasized, making this a softer, more restrained expression of the For Her universe without abandoning its underlying DNA.
The evolution
It starts deceptively airy. Fig arrives first, green and creamy at once, less jammy than fresh, like the skin of the fruit rather than the flesh. Osmanthus follows close behind, bringing that distinctive apricot-skin, leather-curl quality that makes the flower smell almost edible without sweetness dominating. Within twenty minutes, the amber and musk settle underneath, warming everything from below. The patchouli stays quiet but structural, never earthy, more about depth than dirt. On skin, the drydown is where this scent earns its keep: a soft, warm, second-skin musk that lingers well into the day, fading close rather than fading out. It doesn't announce departure.
