Heritage
A house, in its own words
Bontemps Paris began as a family venture, founded by perfumer Florian Gallo alongside his wife Julie and his brother Clément. Florian, born in Paris in 1989, trained as a perfumer-creator at DSM-Firmenich in Paris, one of the most respected fragrance houses in the industry. Rather than wait for a commission from a major brand, he chose to build something of his own, bringing his family into the project from the start. The name Bontemps carries meaning at its core: in French, "bon temps" translates to "good time," and the house weaves this idea of time, memory and lived experience into everything it releases. The brand operates from Paris, drawing on the city's deep perfumery traditions while remaining an independent, family-driven venture. Bontemps Paris joined the select circle of fragrance houses created by a perfumer himself, a distinction that sets it apart from brands built around marketing concepts or external creative directors. The Gallo family guides each step of the process, from initial concept through final formulation. Their presence at industry events such as Pitti Fragranze and Perfume Week by Nez helped introduce the brand to a wider audience of fragrance enthusiasts and professionals. At Bontemps Paris, time sits at the center of everything. The house believes fragrance should capture moments, emotions and the quiet rhythms of daily life rather than chase trends or shock the senses. This approach yields what the brand describes as a delicate universe, one that feels unusual within the often theatrical world of niche perfumery. Florian Gallo's dual role as both a perfumer at a major ingredient house and the creative force behind his own brand gives Bontemps Paris a distinctive perspective. He works daily with raw materials at an industrial scale, yet chooses to apply that knowledge to intimate, personal compositions. The goal is not complexity for its own sake but clarity and emotional resonance. The family dimension matters. Julie and Clément Gallo contribute to the brand's direction, ensuring that each release reflects shared values rather than a single individual's vision. Together they pursue fragrances that feel honest, wearable and rooted in a specific Parisian mood, one that values restraint, warmth and the pleasure of a scent that lingers in memory.
