The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Alexandria Fragrances launched Lady Diana Exclusive in 2020, inspired by Delina by Parfums de Marly. Named after an icon who redefined what it meant to command a room, the fragrance channels bold femininity, the kind that enters without announcement and leaves an impression that lingers. Step aside, gentlemen, indeed.
The original's structure, fruity rose anchored by warm woods, served as a blueprint, not a template. The perfumer reconstructed the composition from different materials, shifting the register. Turkish rose here carries more dew than cream. Lychee reads brighter, more tart. The base incorporates amber and woody notes, creating a fragrance that wears more accessible yet keeps that quiet confidence intact.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately. Bergamot's citrus brightness cuts through Turkish rose's immediate bloom. Lychee and pear arrive together, creating a shimmering effect, fruity, lifted, not yet serious. Incense and vanilla arrive together. Smoke curls through sweetness. The rose doesn't disappear, it deepens, becomes less floral and more essential, woven into the resinous warmth of frankincense and oud. The drydown settles into amber and woody notes, with vanilla present through the final stages.
Cultural impact
Lady Diana Exclusive carves out its own niche in the fruity-rose landscape. It takes the classic rose-and-fruit pairing and infuses it with darker, more resinous elements, creating something that sits comfortably between playful sweetness and deep, smoky warmth. The interplay of rose with incense, oud, and vanilla gives it a sophisticated edge without veering into shadow. It's the kind of fragrance that invites you to discover a different side of rose, one that isn't content with being merely sweet.
