Enrico Buccella
Enrico Buccella grew up in Grasse, the cradle of perfume, where his father and grandfather mixed accords in a modest workshop. He absorbed the language of essential oils before he could read, and by his teens he could name a rose by its botanical name. After formal training at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, he joined Charabot, where he refined his technique on classic chypre and fougère structures. Three years later he moved to Naarden, the creative hub of Quest International, and began crafting scents for niche houses across Europe. The first fragrance that earned him widespread attention was Alambar for Laboratorio Olfattivo, a rich amber that highlighted his love for depth and balance. Since then he has built a reputation for gourmand compositions that marry bright fruit with creamy vanilla, while his amber and orris works reveal a quieter, more contemplative side.

How Enrico composes
Buccella’s signature technique blends bright top notes with a creamy heart and a lingering base that often features vanilla, amber, or orris. He layers fruit such as banana, pineapple, or berries over a veil of milky accords, then anchors the composition with vetiver, sandalwood, or musk. He favors natural absolutes for their texture, but he programs synthetic molecules to sharpen focus and extend longevity. In his gourmand creations, he balances sweetness with a hint of salt or spice, preventing cloying excess. His amber pieces rely on a rich blend of labdanum, benzoin, and resins, delivering warmth without heaviness.
Philosophy
What drives Enrico
Buccella treats each bottle as a conversation between memory and material. He believes a scent must anchor a feeling instantly, then unfold layers that reward repeated wear. He draws inspiration from Italian cuisine, coastal light, and the textures of his childhood workshop. Rather than chase trends, he follows the chemistry that excites his nose, letting accords speak before he adds embellishments. Sustainability guides his ingredient choices; he prefers natural extracts that can be sourced responsibly, yet he does not shy away from synthetics when they deliver precision. The result is a fragrance that feels both familiar and surprising.
