Angela St. John set out to bottle the feeling of an autumn ale in 2014, drawing on Solstice Scents’ small‑batch ethos. Named after the winding Owl Creek that runs through Alachua’s pine‑laden woods, the fragrance captures the frothy head of a pumpkin‑spiced stout. Malt, toffee and warm spices form the opening, while the heart leans into toasted hazelnut, dates and creamy ice‑cream notes, echoing a cozy kitchen after a harvest feast.

The inclusion of pumpkin isn’t just seasonal garnish; it anchors the gourmand sweetness with an earthy, slightly bitter edge that mirrors real ale’s grainy backbone. Coconut and cake add a buttery richness, while vanilla grounds the composition, preventing it from tipping into cloying candy. This balance lets the scent feel both indulgent and surprisingly restrained, a sweet comfort that still respects its ale inspiration.

At first spray, toffee and caramel flash like a caramelized bar top, while malt and pumpkin spice drift in like a freshly poured stout. The opening lasts roughly ten minutes before the heart unfurls: toasted hazelnut and dates mingle with a swirl of vanilla ice‑cream, coconut and a hint of cake, creating a creamy, nutty mid‑phase that feels like dessert on a wooden table.
