CoSTUME NATIONAL launched Scent Gloss in 2004, entrusting French perfumer Laurent Bruyère with a pure‑rose concept that fit the house’s minimalist DNA. The brand, founded in Milan in 1986, had already translated its urban rocker aesthetic into sleek bottles and crisp scents. Bruyère aimed to capture the elegance of a freshly cut rose, softened by the subtlety of orchid and the clean finish of white musk, echoing the label’s architectural clarity.

The choice of orchid, tuberose and magnolia adds depth without sacrificing the fragrance’s clean line. Orchid brings a velvety silk that tempers rose’s brightness, while tuberose contributes a creamy warmth often missing in minimalist compositions. Magnolia injects a fresh, green sparkle, preventing the bouquet from becoming overly sweet and ensuring the scent remains airy yet structured.

At first spray, rose bursts forward, bright and crisp, like a single bloom catching morning light. Within minutes, the heart emerges: orchid’s silk intertwines with tuberose’s creamy richness, and magnolia’s green edge lifts the composition, creating a layered floral that feels both lush and restrained.
