The story of Voskanian Parfums begins in Yerevan, Armenia's capital, where founder Tsovak Voskanian established the house in 2018. Armenia occupies a historically significant position in the development of perfumery, situated along ancient trade routes that connected East and West. The region developed distinctive aromatic traditions drawing from its native botanicals and cross-cultural exchanges over centuries. Tsovak Voskanian reportedly channeled this heritage into his own creative practice, establishing the house as a vehicle for exploring scent through a distinctly Armenian lens. The inaugural releases in 2019 included Beyond Good and Evil and The Wanderer and His Shadow, establishing the brand's naming conventions that would reference philosophical and literary sources. Subsequent years brought a steady expansion of the catalog with Patchouli et Memories and Iris Boisé in 2021, Soir Vert in 2022, and Histoire d'une Rose in 2023. The house participated in international fragrance exhibitions, including representation at Pitti Fragranze, which provided exposure to the broader niche perfumery community. By 2025, the catalog had grown to include Monstre Noir, representing over six years of continuous output. The brand's trajectory reflects a patient, deliberate approach to building a body of work rather than rapid expansion.
