Tsovak Voskanyan
Tsovak Voskanyan did not set out to become a perfumer. Trained as an economist specializing in international economic relations, he spent years working in a field far removed from aromatic raw materials and aging macerations. Then something shifted, and he found himself drawn toward the oldest of those crafts: the making of scent. In 2018, he founded Voskanian Parfums in Armenia, launching a house committed to what he describes as ancient perfume-making traditions reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The leap from spreadsheets to stills was unconventional, but Voskanyan speaks about it with the grounded certainty of someone who arrived at perfume through his own route rather than the usual perfume schools in Grasse. Based in Armenia, he works with both natural oils and synthetic molecules, crafting each composition by hand at his own studio. His debut release drew early attention from international editors, and the house has continued to build a devoted following, particularly through striking, narrative-driven scents such as Pêche Chyprée, which was singled out among the year's most memorable launches.
