Heritage
A house, in its own words
The origins of VIVE Perfume trace back to a small workshop in Bangkok’s historic Bang Rak district, where a group of former fragrance consultants and botanists began experimenting with locally sourced ingredients in 2018. Their first public launch, a limited edition sandalwood blend named Santal Exclusif, arrived in 2020 and quickly attracted attention from niche‑fragrance enthusiasts for its clean, woody profile that highlighted Thai sandalwood harvested in Lampang province. In 2021 the house expanded its palette with Essence Of Serenity, a calming composition built around jasmine and rice husk absolute, reflecting the brand’s interest in agricultural aromas. 2023 saw the introduction of Whispers Of The Oud, a collaboration with a Laotian oud farmer that brought a rare, resinous note to the collection. By 2024 VIVE released City Pop, a bright, urban‑inspired scent that combined yuzu, marine accords, and a hint of Thai basil, signaling the brand’s willingness to fuse modern city life with natural ingredients. The most recent milestone, Santal Exclusif Jubilé (2025), celebrates the five‑year anniversary of the original sandalwood offering with a richer, more layered formulation that adds ambergris and smoked teak. Throughout its brief history, VIVE has participated in regional trade fairs such as the 2022 Bangkok International Fragrance Expo and has been featured in Thai lifestyle publications that note its commitment to preserving traditional scent materials while adopting contemporary perfumery standards.
VIVE Perfume’s creative vision rests on three pillars: locality, transparency, and narrative depth. The house believes that a fragrance should tell a story rooted in place, so each composition references a specific Thai environment or cultural moment. Transparency guides its sourcing policy; the brand works directly with small‑scale farmers in Lampang, Chiang Mai, and the southern provinces, ensuring that raw materials such as sandalwood, yuzu, and rice husk are harvested sustainably and paid for at fair market rates. Narrative depth emerges through the perfumers’ practice of pairing scent with visual and literary cues, encouraging wearers to imagine a sunrise over a rice field or the bustle of a Bangkok night market. VIVE also embraces a modest approach to marketing, preferring editorial features and scent‑focused events over aggressive advertising, a stance that aligns with its belief that quality should speak louder than hype. The brand’s values are reflected in its limited‑edition releases, which often include a short booklet describing the ingredient origins, the inspiration behind the scent, and suggested moments for wearing the perfume.
