A house, in its own words
Artepolé emerged in Bangkok's growing niche fragrance scene in 2022, debuting with a series of releases that signaled a storytelling-first approach from the outset. Among its earliest creations were The Great Gatsby, a literary tribute, The Black Witcher in Wonderparadiso, a fantastical narrative piece, and Sweet glamping, only we know, along with the first Eau de editions (Bloom, Tenderness, Gleam, Optimist). This opening salvo established a pattern the house would repeat: pairing concept-driven names with emotionally grounded compositions. By 2023, Artepolé released Kawaguchirun, a fragrance that earned an Honorable Mention at the Art and Olfaction Awards, an independent perfume competition judged by industry professionals, marking an early external validation of the young house. The collaboration with Abandoned Mansion, a project described in the brand's own materials as a scent crafted for those who understand distinction, further demonstrated Artepolé's willingness to engage with collector-oriented creative communities outside Thailand. The house continued its consistent release cadence into 2024 with Eau de Sunshine and into 2025 with Scent of Polé, showing that within roughly three years of founding, Artepolé had moved from local launches to recognition on the international independent fragrance circuit. Artepolé's stated creative premise, captured in its tagline 'Your Scent, Yourself,' is that fragrance functions as an extension of personal identity rather than a decorative accessory. The house frames each release as a story first and a composition second, drawing from literature, film, memory, and Thai urban life as source material. According to the brand's own positioning, the intention is to inspire and empower individuals through scent, phrasing that aligns with a broader cultural turn in niche perfumery toward autobiographical and narrative-led creation. The name 'Polé' echoes the French 'parler' (to speak), and the house treats fragrance as a kind of personal utterance. Collaborations with projects like Abandoned Mansion suggest an openness to working across creative borders, treating the perfumer as one collaborator among several rather than an isolated author. This approach favors specificity over universality, concept over category, and wears its literary, pop-cultural lineage openly.
