The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
#Kisses landed in 2021 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, a line built around reconstructing recognizable scent profiles. The reference point here is Loubikiss by Christian Louboutin, a woody floral musk that played in the same register of quiet seduction. The Dua Brand version strips the packaging, keeps the architecture: tuberose and jasmine at the center, woods and musk holding the frame. It's a translation, not a copy, the kind that works because the composition itself doesn't require a luxury label to read clearly. What makes this particular expression land is the way the central white floral accord has been balanced against a base that grounds without weighing down.
What makes the structure interesting is its restraint. The note pyramid reads almost minimal: woody notes, tuberose, jasmine, musk. Four materials, no filler. Tuberose carries the weight here, doing what tuberose does best: smelling like skin that knows itself. Jasmine adds lift without sweetness. The woody notes and musk aren't competing characters, they're the floor, a steady, warm foundation that allows the florals to breathe without letting the composition drift into something overly airy or thin.
The evolution
The first 30 minutes are where tuberose announces itself, creamy and almost carnal, riding alongside a jasmine that's bright without being sharp. No aldehyde lift, no citrus sparkle to cut through. Just flowers, the way they'd smell if you pressed your nose into a stem on a warm evening. Somewhere around the two-hour mark the musk starts pulling focus, softening the indolic edges of the tuberose into something warmer, more skin-like. The woody notes never become a separate phase; they just deepen the foundation, adding a dry, slightly resinous weight that keeps the whole thing grounded. By hour four the jasmine has mostly receded, and what remains is this quiet, musky warmth, close to the skin, almost imperceptible unless someone is already close.
Cultural impact
Wearers who know the Louboutin original often describe #Kisses as a close sibling, not identical but recognizable in the right ways. The reference architecture is intact, the proportions of tuberose, jasmine, woods, and musk all read in roughly the same places they do in Loubikiss, and the overall register of quiet, skin-close warmth carries over. What's different is the specific texture of each note. The Dua Brand version tends to read a touch cleaner in the base, with the woody notes feeling slightly drier and less dense than the original's, and the jasmine holding onto a brighter lift for longer in the wear.
