The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pear alone would have been enough. That was the starting point, the silhouette of something curvy and inviting, the kind of fruit you bite into without thinking. But The Dua Brand wanted more than enough. The creative direction asked a simple question: what happens when you let tropical fruit run the show, then hire gin as the head bartender? The answer is Juicy Pear, a composition built on that tension between impulse and restraint, sweetness and spirit, the accessible and the unexpected. The idea has always been about stripping away unnecessary barriers without stripping away the quality. Juicy Pear is that idea made literal: a scent that smells expensive and tastes fun.
What makes Juicy Pear structurally unusual is how it layers spirit accords alongside fruit without tipping into either territory fully. The gin doesn't smell like a cocktail, it smells like the cold, clean sharpness that makes a cocktail work. The mojito does the same thing on the aromatic side: mentholated brightness that cools down the sweetness rather than competing with it. The heart is where the risk lives.
The evolution
The opening is the sharpest moment. The gin arrives first, cold, a little biting, before the pear slides in to soften it. Mojito mint follows, which sounds like chaos but plays as cool. You're standing in a kitchen at 11pm, ice in a glass, something ripe on the counter. For the first hour the fruit builds: pineapple first, then melon, then the guava deepens everything into something almost custardy. The vanilla shows up around hour two, not as a rescue mission but as a harmonizer. It takes the edge off the spirit and the brightness of the tropical notes and makes them feel intentional. The drydown is where this fragrance earns its reputation. Around hour four, the fruit begins to recede but the musk holds. What lingers is not a single note, it is the impression of warmth, a soft amber glow that settles against the skin and stays present long after the initial burst has faded.
Cultural impact
Juicy Pear joined The Dua Brand catalog in 2022. The gin note set it apart from the start, a talking point that drew attention before anyone had even sampled it. Community reception has been consistent: strong sillage, longevity that outlasts most daytime fragrances, and a personality that splits the room in the best way. Collectors took notice when it was discontinued, and the absence of this distinctive scent from the active catalog has only reinforced its standing among fans.
