Heritage
A house, in its own words
Nuori emerged from Copenhagen's design-conscious environment in 2015, when founder Jasmi Bonnén identified what she viewed as fundamental problems with how the skincare industry approached product formulation and shelf stability. Rather than accepting conventional practices, Bonnén built Nuori around the principle of fresh formulation, producing small batches to ensure product efficacy. The transition into perfumery came nearly a decade after the brand's skincare launch, with the 2024 introduction of the Parfum Naturel collection representing a natural extension of the brand's existing philosophy applied to fragrance. This nine-year journey from skincare to scent reflects a deliberate expansion rather than a sudden pivot, with the brand applying its existing commitment to natural ingredients and fresh production to a new category. The Copenhagen founding context means Nuori emerged from a city known for its design heritage and emphasis on quality craftsmanship across consumer goods. For Jasmi Bonnén, the decision to create fragrance grew from an existing commitment to natural ingredients and transparent formulation practices. In discussions about the Parfum Naturel collection, Bonnén has noted that selecting a favourite from the range presents a genuine challenge, suggesting deep personal investment in each fragrance rather than a formulaic approach to scent creation. The brand's skincare origins established a foundation of ingredient scrutiny that now extends to perfumery, where the sourcing and provenance of natural materials receive similar attention. This philosophy rejects the idea that natural and effective are mutually exclusive, instead arguing that careful selection and fresh formulation can deliver results comparable to conventional alternatives. The approach values ingredient integrity over convenience, accepting the logistical complexities that fresh, small-batch production demands.
