Why it exists.
The beginning
For Her landed in 2003 as Narciso Rodriguez's first fragrance. He wanted a scent that celebrated femininity without ornament or apology. Working with perfumer Christine Nagel, he helped create something stripped-down and sure of itself. Not a perfume that performed, but one that simply existed, the way an essential garment can become inseparable from the person wearing it. Musk is central to that idea. It gives the composition its soft, skin-close character, while the florals and warmer notes add light, texture, and depth. The result feels immediate yet layered, presenting femininity with confidence and restraint rather than excess.
What makes For Her unusual isn't simply its ingredient list, but the hierarchy. Musk sits at the top, the heart, and arguably the base too.
