Heritage
A house, in its own words
Laubahn Perfumes grew out of founder Stacey Bresnahan's personal passion for fragrance, a journey that moved geographically and creatively from New York to Lake Geneva. Bresnahan built the house as a vehicle for translating her dreams and love for fragrance into bottled form, collaborating with perfumers whose artistry she admired. Among the creative partners who shaped the brand's early catalog was perfumer Ugo Art, credited by the brand itself as the nose behind several of its fantastical compositions. The house's debut chapter is anchored in 2017, when Naughty Garden and Lost in the Moment entered the market as the brand's first widely recognized releases. Over time, Laubahn expanded its creative circle to include perfumer Schweiger, a fragrance designer with a portfolio that includes work for Frederic Malle, who composed the house's fourth fragrance, described by independent coverage as its most mystical. The brand's heritage, though young, is defined by this pattern of pairing a founder's storytelling sensibility with established noses from the broader independent perfume world, resulting in a catalog structured like chapters rather than seasonal collections. Laubahn Perfumes treats fragrance as an immersive narrative, an invitation to step into a specific emotional landscape rather than merely a finished product to wear. Bresnahan's creative vision centers on translating personal dreams, memories, and imagined worlds into scent, with each composition conceived as a distinct story or place the wearer can inhabit. The brand has described its fragrances as fantastical and exquisite, language that signals a commitment to imagination over conventional floral or oriental templates. Collaboration is central to the philosophy: Laubahn deliberately works with perfumers it admires, such as Ugo Art and Schweiger, allowing each creative partner to bring their own sensibilities while the founder guides the emotional and conceptual brief. This approach places storytelling, artistry, and the evocation of mood at the core of every release, positioning the wearer as a participant in a larger imaginative world rather than a passive consumer of a juice.
