A house, in its own words
Kinetic Perfumes appeared on the Barcelona fragrance scene in the early 2020s, reportedly founded by a small collective of scent enthusiasts who shared a background in visual arts and chemistry. The founders articulated a desire to translate the principles of kinetic energy into olfactory form, a concept that quickly attracted attention at local pop‑up events. In 2022 the house released its debut line, beginning with Sillage, a fragrance that references the invisible trail left by moving bodies, followed shortly by Verdigris, Kayu, Nel and Aura. The same year the brand debuted at its first public showcase, the Kinetic Niche Fragrance & Perfume Show in Barcelona, where it presented a curated selection of its initial releases. 2023 saw the introduction of Insomnia, a night‑time composition that explored the restless energy of sleepless hours. By 2025 Kinetic expanded its narrative with Mosaic, a scent built around the idea of fragmented light, and a limited‑edition Tulua that paired a rare botanical extract with a metallic accord. The following year the house revisited its inaugural scent with Néo Sillage, a modern reinterpretation that incorporated new synthetic materials while retaining the original’s kinetic spirit. Throughout its development Kinetic has remained a small‑batch operation, producing each fragrance in limited quantities and distributing primarily through boutique retailers and its own online platform. The brand’s trajectory reflects a steady accumulation of experimental releases rather than rapid commercial expansion, reinforcing its position as a laboratory for kinetic‑inspired perfumery. The creative vision at Kinetic Perfumes rests on the premise that scent can capture movement, rhythm and change. The brand describes its work as an attempt to encode memories, emotions and visual impressions into aromatic form, a goal that guides every stage of development. Rather than following seasonal trends, Kinetic designers start with a kinetic concept – such as the flow of water, the pulse of a city street or the flicker of light – and translate that idea into a scent architecture. The house encourages wearers to experiment with layering, suggesting that the interaction of two or more fragrances can generate a new kinetic experience, much like a dance between notes. Sustainability and transparency also shape the brand’s values; ingredients are sourced from suppliers that meet European REACH standards, and the company publishes basic ingredient lists for each launch. Community feedback is welcomed, with the brand often referencing comments from niche perfume forums when refining a formula. This open, experimental mindset positions Kinetic as a collaborative partner rather than a distant luxury label.
