Perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud constructed this version with the same spicy-floral architecture as the original spray: Bulgarian rose absolute as the heart, patchouli and frankincense anchoring the base, magnolia and tangerine catching light at the top. The solid vehicle changes how those materials behave.
What sets this composition apart is the rose. Bulgarian rose absolute is one of the most expensive natural materials in perfumery, and its presence here isn't decorative. It anchors the heart with a density that synthetic alternatives can't replicate, then surrenders gradually to patchouli's earthy pull. The coconut and vanilla aren't background sweetness. They're structural, rounding what would otherwise be a drier, more austere floral into something warmer, almost edible in the late drydown. The frankincense does quiet work. The evolution
