Heritage
A house, in its own words
The origins of Exuma Parfums trace to Winter Park, Florida, where the house established itself as an independent fragrance maker in 2018. Founder and perfumer Wesley C built the house with a commitment to handcrafted perfumery, distinguishing Exuma from larger commercial fragrance houses operating through mass distribution channels. The 2018 launch introduced multiple initial compositions including Black Vanilla Man, Acqua Intense Man, Oud Noir Man, Profumo Rosa Woman, Vetiver Royale Man, and Velvet Cachemir Woman, establishing the house aesthetic across gendered fragrance lines. The following year brought Saint Cuir and Liquid Gold in 2019, followed by Roses De La Nuit. By 2020, Moving Dunes joined the collection. The collaboration with Bertrand Duchaufour, whose work spans numerous international fragrance houses, brought additional technical expertise to the Exuma creative process. As a Florida-based indie house, Exuma operates outside the structure of heritage European perfume houses with centuries of history, instead carving a niche within the contemporary independent perfumery movement. The house functions without the traditional boutique infrastructure of larger houses, relying instead on direct-to-consumer distribution and fragrance community engagement through social media platforms.
Exuma Parfums operates with a philosophy rooted in independent craftsmanship and accessible artisan perfumery. The house emphasizes handcrafted creation as its methodological foundation, distinguishing its approach from industrial fragrance production. Wesley C serves as the creative force behind the collection, bringing individual vision to each composition while collaborating selectively with established perfumers including Bertrand Duchaufour. The brand structure divides its catalog into dedicated masculine and feminine lines, offering Black Vanilla Man, Acqua Intense Man, Oud Noir Man, and Vetiver Royale Man alongside Profumo Rosa Woman, Velvet Cachemir Woman, and Roses De La Nuit. This organizational choice reflects a traditional approach to fragrance categorization rather than the gender-neutral positioning favored by some contemporary houses. The indie identity shapes Exuma's market position, allowing creative flexibility without corporate fragrance house constraints. Social media presence, particularly through Instagram, serves as the primary community-building channel for the brand, engaging directly with fragrance enthusiasts outside traditional retail frameworks.
