Heritage
A house, in its own words
Ermanno Scervino emerged in 2000 when Toni Scervino and Ermanno Daelli joined forces to establish a fashion house in Florence, Italy. Daelli served as Creative Director and designer, while Scervino handled the entrepreneurial side of the business. The partnership combined Daelli's design vision with Scervino's business acumen, creating a brand that would grow into a recognized name in Italian fashion over the following two decades. The fashion house built its reputation on tailored silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and a contemporary approach to femininity that resonated with an international clientele. By the late 2010s, the brand decided to extend its aesthetic into the world of fragrance. WWD reported in 2018 that the Florence-based label would debut its first women's scent in the second half of that year. The fragrance line officially launched in 2019, marking a significant milestone as the brand translated its fashion identity into olfactory form. This expansion came roughly 19 years after the founding of the fashion house, demonstrating a deliberate approach to entering the competitive fragrance market.
Ermanno Scervino approaches perfumery through the lens of its fashion heritage, translating concepts of tailoring, texture, and feminine expression into scent. The brand's fragrance collection reflects an understanding of layering and composition that mirrors garment construction. Each fragrance aims to capture different facets of the modern woman, ranging from romantic and delicate to bold and confident. The naming conventions suggest thematic storytelling: Seeds Of Love evokes romanticism, Lace Couture references the intricate textile work central to the fashion house's identity, and Chic speaks to effortless elegance. Rather than following seasonal fragrance trends, the brand appears to develop scents that align with enduring aspects of its design philosophy. The fragrances explore contrasts between softness and strength, using ingredients like rose, jasmine, musk, and cedar to create compositions that feel both intimate and refined.
