Heritage
A house, in its own words
Amer Perfumes emerged from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a region where perfume has long been woven into daily life and ceremonial practice. The brand’s founders, whose identities remain private, began experimenting with traditional raw materials in the early 2020s, seeking to capture the aromatic memory of historic markets and desert caravans. In 2023 the house introduced Arabian Jasmine, a fragrance that highlighted locally sourced jasmine buds and quickly attracted attention at the Scent Fair in Los Angeles. The same year, Gardenia Absolute followed, emphasizing a hand‑picked gardenia extraction process that mirrored older Middle Eastern perfume techniques. 2024 marked a prolific period: Perennial arrived as a floral‑green blend, Mandaroud combined bright citrus with smoky oud, and Charred Oud pushed the envelope with a deliberately torched oud note, a nod to the ancient practice of charring wood to deepen aroma. By 2025 Amer Perfumes expanded its portfolio with Vanulia, Oud de Chypre, and Panira, each reflecting a different facet of regional scent culture—whether the sweet resin of frankincense, the smoky depth of Arabian oud, or the bright, herbaceous lift of citrus. Throughout its short history, the brand has participated in international trade shows, most notably the Scent Fair Los Angeles, where it presented its narrative of “rich, authentic scent history of the Middle East.” While the company does not publish a formal founding date, its public releases and exhibition appearances suggest a launch window around 2022‑2023. The brand’s growth aligns with a broader resurgence of interest in Middle Eastern perfumery, as collectors worldwide seek authentic, story‑driven scents that move beyond Western mainstream offerings. Amer Perfumes believes that fragrance should act as a cultural conduit, carrying the stories of place, people, and memory. The house prioritises authenticity over trend, selecting ingredients that have deep roots in Arabian tradition. It values transparency in sourcing, preferring partners who harvest oud, jasmine, and other botanicals using methods that respect both the environment and local communities. The brand’s creative vision rests on a dialogue between past and present: each composition references a historic accord—such as the smoky oud of ancient incense—while framing it within a contemporary structure that appeals to modern sensibilities. Amer Perfumes also embraces restraint; rather than layering countless notes, it focuses on a clear, purposeful melody that lets each ingredient speak. This approach reflects a broader commitment to sustainability, as the house limits waste by producing limited batches and reusing packaging where possible. By marrying heritage with mindful innovation, Amer Perfumes aims to offer collectors a scent experience that feels both rooted and forward‑looking.
