    Antonio Alessandria

Antonio Alessandria grew up in the bustling streets of Catania, Sicily, where his mother’s fashion atelier introduced him to colour, texture and scent. After earning an engineering degree and spending a decade designing electronic systems, he answered a quiet call to the laboratory of fragrance in 2008. He taught himself the chemistry of aroma, then enrolled in a short intensive program in Grasse to sharpen his nose. By 2010 he launched his first boutique, a modest shop that opens each evening while he continues his day job as an engineer. The dual life fuels his work ethic; precision from circuitry meets the sensuality of memory. Today he runs Antonio Alessandria Parfums, a label that celebrates Sicilian heritage through scents that echo citrus groves, sea breezes and the warmth of family gatherings.

    How Antonio composes

Alessandria’s technique blends scientific rigor with artisanal intuition. He favors natural citrus extracts from Sicilian lemons and blood oranges, pairing them with resinous amber and warm woods harvested from the Mediterranean coast. In the lab he experiments with fixation agents derived from ambergris substitutes to extend longevity without masking the heart of the scent. He often builds a composition around a single anchor note - such as jasmine or myrtle - and layers supporting accords that echo the texture of stone or the humidity of a sea-sprayed alley. His creations reveal a clear structure: a bright opening, a nuanced middle, and a lingering base that feels like a quiet evening in his hometown.

    Philosophy

    What drives Antonio

Alessandria believes that a fragrance should act as a personal archive, preserving moments that otherwise fade. He draws inspiration from childhood afternoons spent in his mother’s atelier, the scent of orange blossoms drifting over the Mediterranean, and the metallic tang of a workshop bench. Each formula begins with a memory, then he translates that feeling into a structure that can be worn. He rejects trends that chase novelty for novelty’s sake; instead he seeks honesty, letting raw materials speak before any embellishment. For him, perfume is a bridge between the tangible world of engineering and the intangible world of emotion.
