Anaïs Biguine
Anaïs Biguine grew up surrounded by books, a habit that later shaped every scent she creates. After a chemistry degree, she turned a modest candle workshop into a laboratory of narrative fragrance in 2010. Two years later she launched her first perfume line, Jardins d’Écrivains, a collection that translates the private rooms, gardens and moods of literary giants into olfactory portraits. The debut collection earned praise from niche editors and positioned her as a fresh voice in a field still dominated by legacy houses. Since then she has crafted more than twenty‑seven distinct scents, each anchored to a writer’s world, and she continues to expand the dialogue between literature and scent.

How Anaïs composes
In the studio Biguine favors natural extracts that carry a strong sense of place—aged woods, dried herbs, vintage paper accords, and subtle animalic notes that suggest a writer’s lingering presence. She layers a base of amber or musk with a heart of literary‑inspired florals such as violet leaf or rose de mai, then lifts the composition with a top of citrus or green notes reminiscent of an open manuscript. Her technique relies on precise modulation, allowing each ingredient to speak without overwhelming the narrative she intends to convey.
Philosophy
What drives Anaïs
Biguine treats each fragrance as a chapter, aiming to evoke the same intimacy a reader feels when turning a page. She believes scent can capture a writer’s temperament, the texture of a study, or the echo of a favorite line. Her work is driven by curiosity about history and a desire to make stories tangible. Rather than chasing trends, she follows the narrative thread that emerges from archival research, personal letters and the ambience of historic homes, letting those clues dictate the composition.
