    Alexandre Freile

Alexandre Freile grew up in France, within reach of Paris, immersed in the country's deep perfume culture and its celebrated culinary traditions. That early exposure planted seeds that would grow into a lifelong obsession with scent. He pursued formal training at ISIPCA, the prestigious fragrance school that has produced generations of exceptional noses, and that education gave him the technical foundation to translate his childhood fascination into professional mastery. Today, Freile works as a perfumer at dsm-firmenich, one of the world's most respected fragrance houses, where he crafts compositions for major brands. He relocated to Singapore, joining a community of fragrance professionals who have made the city-state a hub for creative perfumery in Asia. His work spans multiple designers and positions him as one of the more interesting French noses working internationally today.

    How Alexandre composes

Freile's style leans toward tropical freshness and vibrant fruity accords, with reviewers noting the burst of tropical notes that characterize some of his work. He demonstrates a strong command of identifiable materials, building fragrances where each element plays a distinct role rather than dissolving into a blur. His compositions tend toward clarity and projection, suggesting a preference for bold, confident structures. Jasmine appears to be a recurring touchstone, connecting back to his French heritage while allowing him to explore its facets in new directions. The overall impression is one of precision and energy.

    Philosophy

    What drives Alexandre

Freile approaches fragrance creation with what he describes as an adventurous spirit, one that pushes him to build perfumes with real performance and presence. He believes every single note in a composition should be identifiable, resisting the trend toward abstraction in favor of clarity and intentionality. His creative process seems driven by curiosity about how materials interact, and by a desire to create scents that feel both modern and grounded in classical technique. He speaks about fragrance as something intimate, a conversation between the perfumer and the wearer that unfolds over time.
