The Beginning
L'Eau Port d'Andratx was unveiled in 2019 as Pertegaz’s tribute to the sparkling Balearic harbors that have long inspired the house’s Mediterranean palette. Drawing on the brand’s tradition of translating sartorial precision into scent, the perfumer aimed to capture the crisp sea‑air of a sun‑lit port, pairing the zest of Spanish oranges with the delicate bloom of lilies that line coastal gardens.
To echo that breezy waterfront, the composition opens with lemon and mandarin orange, notes that recall the citrus groves of Valencia. A heart of lilac, lily of the valley and a whisper of bitter orange adds a white‑floral elegance, while the base of amber, moss and woody notes grounds the perfume, evoking the pine‑laden hills that frame the port.
The Evolution
At first spray, lemon bursts like a splash of sea‑foam, instantly brightening the senses. Mandarin orange follows, adding a sweet, slightly oily sparkle that feels like sunlight on water. Within ten minutes the bitter orange and lilac emerge, softening the sharpness with a powdery, almost nostalgic floral veil. Lily of the valley lifts the heart, giving a fresh green‑white lift reminiscent of garden paths beside the quay. As the top fades, amber unfurls, warm and slightly resinous, while moss introduces an earthy, damp‑stone nuance that suggests the harbor’s stone walkways. The woody notes linger, providing a subtle, dry finish that remains on the skin for roughly four to six hours, leaving a quiet, refined trail that whispers of Mediterranean evenings.
Cultural Impact
L'Eau Port d'Andratx captures the breezy spirit of Mallorca’s coastal towns, echoing the island’s tradition of citrus groves and sun‑kissed promenades. Its bright lemon and mandarin notes recall local festivals where locals share fresh fruit, while the subtle marine accord nods to the historic fishing ports that have shaped the region’s identity for centuries. By blending modern elegance with these timeless references, the fragrance reinforces a sense of place that resonates with both locals and visitors, reinforcing Mallorca’s reputation as a hub of relaxed luxury.
