The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pink Champagne 9.0 launched in 2023 as part of The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line, a series of inspired expressions that reinterpret celebrated compositions through the house's own lens. The fragrance draws from the playful, molecular-amber aesthetic of Zarkoperfume's Pink Molecule 090·09, reworking the original's signature fizz into something warmer and sweeter. Champagne accord lifts the top, bright and effervescent, while ripe apricot introduces a golden, sun-warmed sweetness almost immediately. Beneath that opening shimmer, whipped cream wraps the composition in a soft, lactonic haze, adding the indulgent richness of a spun-sugar confection.
The composition does something unusual with the champagne accord. Rather than treating it as a fleeting top note, the fizz is anchored by whipped cream and blackwood, giving it a creamy chassis that lets the bubbles resonate far longer than expected. The champagne note reads almost like a melted sorbet at this stage, sweet but lifted, that distinctive interplay of pointillism and indulgence that only a well-built gourmand can achieve. Black elder and apricot add a bruised-fruit depth, their syrupy edges deepening the sweetness with a jammy, late-summer warmth.
The evolution
Pink Champagne 9.0 begins with an effervescent burst of chilled champagne accord, black elder fizz, and sun-ripened apricot, lifting the senses like the pop of a freshly opened bottle. The champagne reads crisp at first pour, almost cold, but the fruit softens it within minutes, coaxing the sparkle into something warmer and more rounded. The middle act brings a creamy heart of whipped cream and black orchid, where the lactonic sweetness rounds out the tart fruit and gives the composition a dessert-like warmth. Here the whipped cream feels substantial, like the chilled foam atop a poured drink, and the black orchid adds a dusky, almost chocolate-edged shadow that keeps the sweetness honest.
Cultural impact
Pink Champagne 9.0 is the kind of fragrance that fits a celebration, a date that goes well, or a night out where effort is part of the point. It's sweet, unapologetically so, and it wears its sweetness like a statement. The champagne-and-cream accord gives it a festive character that reads almost edible, the sort of scent you'd associate with a candlelit table or the moment a bottle is opened at the right hour. Wearers tend to be drawn to sweetness that doesn't apologize for itself, and this one delivers that with conviction.
