The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Matchalicious takes its name from the matcha that anchors it, and from the Maison Margiela Matcha Meditation it channels. The Dua Brand built its catalog on a simple premise: recreate the architecture of high-end fragrances without the luxury markup. Matcha Meditation was a natural target. The original had a devoted following, a specific mood, stillness in a bottle, and a price that kept it out of reach for many. Matchalicious exists to close that gap.
What makes the composition interesting is the green tea itself. It doesn't read as astringent or sharply herbal. The bergamot and mandarin orange open bright enough to prevent any funk, while the mate adds a slightly smoky, yerba mate edge that gives the green depth. The white chocolate doesn't try to dominate, it softens. It rounds. Without it, this would be a straightforward freshie. With it, the drydown becomes the whole point.
The evolution
The opening is all citrus brightness, bergamot and mandarin orange hitting clean and sharp, almost like zest. Underneath, green tea and mate arrive within minutes, turning the brightness earthy. The jasmine and orange blossom come next, a quiet floral handoff that keeps things soft. Then the white chocolate takes over. It doesn't arrive all at once, it seeps in, replacing the florals with something creamy and sweet. Oakmoss and cedar stay underneath, holding the whole thing close to the skin. By the end, it's a warm, green-adjacent whisper that fades slowly rather than disappearing.
Cultural impact
Matchalicious occupies a specific corner of the fragrance world, green tea and matcha scents have a dedicated following among people who want something calm, meditative, and distinct from the standard fresh citrus. The white chocolate addition gives it a point of difference that sets it apart from the typical green freshie.
