Heritage
A house, in its own words
Armaf entered the fragrance market in 2015, founded in the United Arab Emirates by a group of entrepreneurs who wanted to bring affordable, well‑crafted scents to a region dominated by niche imports. Within a few years the house secured collaborations with noted perfumers such as Quentin Bich and Christophe Raynaud, a fact documented on the brand’s official site. In 2024 Armaf announced a partnership with Arturetto Landi, an Italian master perfumer whose training in Germany gave him a reputation for precise, artistic compositions. The joint venture was presented under the name Profumi d'Art × Armaf, a nod to the visual‑art inspiration behind each fragrance. The inaugural release featured eight scents, numbered Art 01 to Art 08, each accompanied by a brief artistic statement on the bottle. Throughout 2024 the line grew to include Art 09 through Art 13, expanding the narrative to cover themes of water, desert roses, and smoky oud. In 2025 the collection added Art 14 – Latte di Tuberosa – a tuberose‑centric fragrance that pushed the series into a more gourmand direction. The brand’s rapid rollout has been tracked by fragrance databases such as Fragrantica, which note the consistent yearly additions and the introduction of a mixed‑kit discovery set in late 2025. While Armaf’s broader catalogue continues to span classic and contemporary styles, Profumi d'Art remains its most focused artistic experiment, positioning the house as a conduit between Middle Eastern market dynamics and European perfumery tradition. The creative vision behind Profumi d'Art × Armaf rests on a dialogue between two cultures. Landi brings an Italian sensibility rooted in fine art, while Armaf contributes a market‑driven understanding of scent preferences across the Gulf region. The line’s guiding principle is to treat each fragrance as a standalone artwork, assigning it a number and a short title that hints at its inspiration rather than a conventional marketing tagline. This approach encourages wearers to engage with the scent on a personal level, interpreting the olfactory cues without pre‑set expectations. The brand also emphasizes inclusivity; all releases are formulated as unisex, reflecting a growing trend in the region toward gender‑neutral fragrance experiences. Sustainability is addressed through selective sourcing of natural ingredients and a commitment to responsible synthetic alternatives, allowing the line to maintain consistent quality while respecting environmental considerations. Transparency about ingredient families and the creative process is encouraged in interviews with Landi, who often discusses the balance between tradition and modern technique.
