The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2009, Prada released Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger as part of the Les Infusions collection. Daniela Andrier returned with this white floral interpretation built around orange blossom from Morocco and Tunisia, neroli, and Indian jasmine sambac. The collection was originally conceived as limited editions, but the formula proved compelling enough that Prada brought it back as a permanent fixture in 2015. The scent opens with a translucent, sparkling quality that feels like morning light filtering through glass. Orange blossom brings delicate sweetness, neroli adds aromatic sharpness, and jasmine sambac contributes rich, tropical depth. The overall impression is clean, pure white blooms rather than anything ostentatious.
What distinguishes Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger from other orange blossom fragrances is its deliberate restraint. The white florals are stripped back to reveal the ingredient's character, each note taking its turn without demanding attention. Moroccan orange blossom provides sweetness, Tunisian neroli adds a sharper, more aromatic quality, and Indian jasmine sambac contributes depth. The florals coexist cleanly and warmly, grounded by sandalwood beneath.
The evolution
The opening arrives quickly, a bright, transparent burst of Tunisian neroli and orange blossom that reads like the first hour of a spring morning. This clarity does not last. Within fifteen minutes, the Moroccan orange blossom takes over, joined by jasmine sambac and Indian tuberose in a heart that feels both clean and warm. The florals do not compete, they coexist, each note taking its turn without demanding attention. By the third hour, the sandalwood emerges, adding a subtle woody warmth that grounds the composition. The musk becomes more apparent as the florals fade, creating a soft, skin-close effect that lingers. The drydown is intimate and clean, the kind of scent that rewards close proximity.
Cultural impact
The Les Infusions collection occupies a particular space in the fragrance world, offering subtle, refined scents for those who appreciate understatement. Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger fits this positioning precisely. The scent works best when someone has to lean in close to notice it. This is not a fragrance that competes for attention. It speaks quietly, offering its qualities to those who take the time to notice.
