The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Nasheet arrived in 2023 as part of Lattafa's ongoing expansion into compositions that favor restraint over spectacle. The name draws from the Arabic Latif and Lateefa, gentle, pleasant, and the fragrance itself honors that philosophy. No excess. No trying to prove anything. Just a clean, warm structure that holds together. The pyramid is deliberately lean: guaiac wood, nutmeg, then a base of frankincense, cashmeran, and sandalwood. That's it. Sometimes less is the point.
What makes Nasheet work is the hand-off between its phases. The guaiac wood carries a smoky, slightly tar-like character that most fragrances bury under sweeter accords. Here, it's allowed to breathe. Nutmeg steps in next, that bright, aromatic spice that tingles rather than burns. Together they create an interesting tension: woody warmth meeting sharp freshness. Neither dominates. The base then shifts the composition into something creamier and more meditative as sandalwood and cashmeran take over from the nutmeg's sharper edges. Frankincense lingers beneath, adding a quiet resinous quality that grounds the drydown without overpowering it.
The evolution
The opening arrives quietly, guaiac wood projecting just enough to register before the nutmeg asserts itself. That nutmeg phase is where the fragrance lives longest, carrying the composition for most of its 6-8 hour arc. The transition to the base is gradual, not a dramatic shift. Sandalwood and cashmeran emerge as the nutmeg softens, creating a creamier, more powdery trail that stays close to the skin. The frankincense sits underneath, present but never dominant, more of a whisper than a statement. On fabric, the drydown outlasts skin contact by a few hours. The projection never becomes loud, but the longevity is genuine. A workday fragrance in the best sense.
Cultural impact
Nasheet finds its audience among fragrance wearers who've moved past projection and into presence. It's not trying to fill a room, it's meant to be discovered at close range. The moderate sillage and strong longevity make it a workday staple, while the warm-spicy character gives it enough personality for evening without veering into event fragrance territory.
