Heritage
A house, in its own words
The brand takes its name from its founder, Jarekhye Covarrubias, who established Haught Parfums in 2012 with a stated commitment to producing distinctive fragrances at accessible price points. The house operated with considerable output between 2013 and 2016, releasing multiple fragrances each year. Early releases included Ineffable in 2013 and Audacious in 2014, followed by a cluster of offerings in 2015 such as Pelirrojo Picante, Prieto Cereza, and Jasmine Teaze. The most prolific period came in 2016, when the brand introduced Man! Darrin!, Smoke N Haught, Haught, Cool & Vicious, Haught & Smoky, and Cheat Day. The house draws its philosophy from the legacy of early French perfumery, tracing conceptual roots to Jean-Vincent Bully, who established his shop on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1803. While contemporary in execution, the brand situates itself within a lineage of Parisian fragrance houses that prioritize bold scent creation over mainstream appeal. Haught Parfums operates on the belief that fragrance should be both distinctive and approachable. The brand seeks to offer compositions that stand apart from mass-market offerings without commanding luxury price brackets. Their catalog features playful, sometimes provocative fragrance names that signal a lack of pretense and an embrace of sensory fun. The names suggest conceptual stories and mood boards rather than traditional perfumery conventions, inviting wearers to engage with fragrance as a form of personal expression rather than status signaling. This approach positions the brand as an accessible alternative within the independent fragrance space, appealing to collectors and newcomers drawn to unconventional scent experiences.
