Heritage
A house, in its own words
Odecla launched in France in 2016 with the intention of offering a distinguished scent profile that blends classic French perfumery with an oriental twist. The brand’s first releases – Legacy, Night and Dreams – arrived the same year, establishing a rapid entry into the niche market. Early press noted the house’s commitment to storytelling, each fragrance aiming to evoke a specific memory or mood. By 2020 the portfolio expanded with The Choice and Innocent, showing a willingness to explore fresh compositions while retaining the signature warm, resinous backbone. In 2021 Odecla introduced Desire and Gorgeous, two scents that received coverage in regional fragrance blogs for their bold use of spice and amber. The following year the house added Spanish Cedar, Frozen Vetiver, and Golden Tobacco, marking a productive period that doubled the number of releases in a single calendar year. Throughout this growth, Odecla maintained a partnership with Al‑Mashreq Perfumes House, which opened a subsidiary retail presence in Kuwait City, allowing the brand to serve Middle Eastern collectors directly. The consistent output and strategic regional foothold illustrate Odecla’s steady evolution from a Paris‑based launch to an internationally recognized niche label, while still operating within a modest, atelier‑style framework. Odecla frames its creative vision around narrative fragrance. The house believes that a perfume should act as a scent‑filled chapter, inviting the wearer to step into a scene rather than merely wear a scent. This storytelling approach guides the selection of ingredients, the balance of accords, and the naming of each release. Odecla values transparency in sourcing, preferring suppliers that can trace raw materials back to their origin, whether that be a cedar forest in Spain or a vetiver field in Haiti. The brand also respects the legacy of French perfumery, employing classic techniques such as maceration and careful blending, while remaining open to modern synthetics that enhance longevity and projection. Sustainability appears in the house’s statements, with a reported effort to minimize waste by producing in limited batches and using recyclable packaging where possible. Ultimately, Odecla seeks to create scents that feel both intimate and adventurous, encouraging collectors to build personal olfactory libraries that reflect diverse moments in life.
