A house, in its own words
GP Fragrances emerged from a personal creative project by Greg Parilla, a Filipino content creator who turned to perfumery as a means of storytelling. Parilla co-founded the house to bring distinctly Filipino narratives into a global fragrance conversation that has historically overlooked Southeast Asian voices. The brand operates with the backing of Noah Solutions, a Filipino business group that provides operational infrastructure for the creative venture. In its early years, GP Fragrances built a following through Parilla's existing online community, where he documented the development of each scent from concept through formulation. The house's first widely recognized release centered on the 'Fire Element' concept, with GP Embers of Mayon drawing directly from the volcanic energy of Mayon Volcano in the Bicol region. Subsequent collections expanded this storytelling approach to other elemental and geographic themes, including mountain landscapes and coastal escapes. By 2024 and 2025, the brand had released a portfolio of seven fragrances, each rooted in a specific Philippine place or cultural reference point, positioning GP Fragrances as one of the small but growing group of locally-founded Filipino fragrance houses. At the core of GP Fragrances is the conviction that scent can carry place, memory, and cultural identity in a way that no other medium quite manages. Greg Parilla has described the creative mission as building scents that tell local stories, treating each fragrance less as an accessory and more as a vessel for Filipino experience. The house draws inspiration from specific locations, emotions, and personal recollections rather than from abstract trends in European perfumery. This grounding in locality gives the brand a clear point of view: a bottle from GP Fragrances is meant to evoke somewhere or something particular, whether that is the green highlands of Baguio, the surf of Siargao, or the volcanic slopes of Mayon. The brand also reflects Parilla's background as a content creator, with the development process itself, from initial inspiration through naming and packaging, treated as part of the fragrance's narrative rather than a separate marketing layer.
