Heritage
A house, in its own words
Shale Albao, a chemical‑engineer turned perfumer, launched Tadhana after completing her training at ISIPCA in Versailles. Her childhood in Manila supplied the sensory vocabulary that now fuels the brand’s narratives. In 2023 she opened a studio in Pasig, Philippines, and began formulating scents that would later appear under the Tadhana name. The following year the house presented its first collection at the Grasse International Perfume Expo, a milestone noted by several industry observers as a rare appearance for a newly founded Filipino brand. Since that debut, Tadhana has released a steady stream of fragrances, including Lover (2024), Innocent (2025) and Ascend (2026). The brand’s growth has been documented through social‑media channels, local press and coverage at regional fragrance events. While still small, Tadhana has built a reputation for translating personal memory into olfactory form, a practice that continues to shape its seasonal releases and collaborations. The name Tadhana translates to "destiny" in Tagalog, a concept that guides the house’s creative direction. The brand treats each fragrance as a moment meant to be claimed, rather than a product to be marketed. Its statements emphasize storytelling, cultural specificity and a respect for the ingredients that inspire each composition. Tadhana’s founder frequently cites her engineering background as a framework for systematic experimentation, yet she balances that with the intuition of memory. The house claims to source many raw materials from Philippine growers, aiming to support local agriculture while preserving traditional scent profiles. Sustainability appears in the brand’s choice of recyclable packaging and its effort to minimize waste during batch production. Overall, the philosophy rests on authenticity, a dialogue between past and present, and a belief that scent can anchor personal narratives.
