The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Sticky Toffee drops into Gisou's lineup in 2025 as a limited edition of the brand's signature hair perfume, built on the same Mirsalehi Honey and argan oil base that anchors every scent in the collection. Where the original Honey Infused Hair Perfume leans into a cleaner honey expression, this one heads straight for the bakery. Gingerbread, caramel, cream, and honey nectar get layered over a sandalwood base, turning a haircare product into something that smells good enough to eat. The scent opens with an immediate hit of warm caramel, rich and unapologetic, before the cream softens the sweetness into something that reads almost dairy-like. Gingerbread weaves through the middle, a brown sugar warmth spiked with just enough spice to keep things from collapsing into pure sugar.
What makes Sticky Toffee interesting is how much weight each note carries. Caramel and cream give the scent its body, a dense, almost edible core that lingers close to the skin. Gingerbread adds a layer of spice without tipping into sharpness, more baked warmth than fire. Sandalwood underneath keeps everything tethered, providing the kind of dry, creamy base that keeps the sweetness from floating off unchecked. The result is a composition that feels deliberate in every direction, each ingredient pulling its weight, nothing added just for decoration.
The evolution
The first few minutes are all dessert. Caramel arrives warm and immediately sweet, followed closely by cream that softens the intensity and rounds out the edges. Gingerbread shows up shortly after, its cinnamon warmth settling into the composition without overwhelming the rest of the notes. Honey nectar surfaces beneath the spice, giving the whole opening a golden, syrupy quality that feels less like sugar and more like something slow-cooked. As the hours pass, the gingerbread fades and the cream-and-honey combo takes over, turning denser and richer with wear. Eventually the sandalwood becomes the dominant voice, grounding the sweetness into something quieter, more skin-like, a warm trace that stays close rather than projecting outward.
Cultural impact
Sticky Toffee arrives in 2025 as a limited edition within Gisou's hair perfume collection, and it leans further into gourmand territory than anything else the brand has released. The fragrance reads warm, dense, and unapologetically sweet, a composition built around caramel, cream, gingerbread, honey nectar, and sandalwood rather than a light floral or clean musk. Its character sits firmly in the bakery register, more baked good than confection, and closer to a warm dessert than a bright cocktail pour. The sandalwood base gives it weight and staying power, keeping the sweetness from dissolving into something thin or overly airy.
