A house, in its own words
The story of 100BON begins with Christophe Bombana, a former biochemist who turned his scientific curiosity toward fragrance. In 2017 he launched the brand as the first French house dedicated exclusively to 100 % natural raw materials. Early on, Bombana partnered with the historic workshop of Atelier Ellena, a collaboration that allowed the fledgling house to access traditional French compounding techniques while maintaining a strict natural‑only policy. The first public collection appeared in 2018, featuring scents such as Shell Beach and Soleil & Ambre, which were praised for their clear, unadulterated character. By 2021 the house expanded its palette with Vetiver & Iris, a composition that highlighted the brand’s willingness to explore green interpretations of traditionally heavy notes. In 2024 Amber Sensual arrived, marking a milestone as the first 100BON fragrance to be launched alongside a dedicated refill system, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The following year, 2025 saw the release of Patchouli & Cachemire and Patchouli & Benjoin, both of which demonstrated how the house can blend earthy roots with soft, textile‑inspired nuances without resorting to synthetic enhancers. Throughout its first decade, 100BON has remained rooted in Paris, operating from a boutique that doubles as the founder’s atelier and living space, a setting that reflects the brand’s blend of craftsmanship and intimacy. The house’s evolution mirrors a broader movement in French perfumery toward transparency, ecological responsibility and a renewed respect for the raw materials that have defined the industry for centuries.
100BON’s creative vision rests on the belief that fragrance should be both pure and inclusive. The brand states that every ingredient must be traceable, biodegradable and sourced with respect for local ecosystems. This ethos drives a sourcing model that favors small‑scale farms in France, Madagascar and the Caribbean, where growers practice organic or low‑impact agriculture. The house also embraces a minimalist approach to composition: each perfume is built around a limited set of notes, allowing the natural character of each material to shine. Rather than masking imperfections, 100BON celebrates the subtle variations that occur between batches, inviting wearers to experience a living scent that evolves with time. The brand’s commitment to well‑being extends beyond the olfactory; refillable packaging reduces waste, and the company provides clear guidance on safe skin application, reflecting its broader concern for consumer health. In interviews, Bombana has emphasized that perfumery, at its core, is a dialogue between nature and the wearer, a conversation that should be honest, respectful and accessible to anyone who wishes to engage with it.
