    Master Perfumer

    Zoe Coste

Zoe Coste emerged from the rare cohort of formally trained female noses who also own a fragrance house. After completing a rigorous program at a leading French perfumery institute, she spent several years mastering raw material selection in the labs of a historic house. In 2018 she launched the Zoe Coste label, positioning the brand as a laboratory where art meets chemistry. Her debut collection introduced a crisp green accord that quickly earned praise from independent retailers. Since then she has expanded the line to include seasonal editions and limited‑edition collaborations with visual artists. Zoe balances the discipline of laboratory work with the curiosity of a collector, and she mentors young talent through workshops held in her Paris studio.

    The signature

    How Zoe composes

Zoe’s technique centers on precise accord construction. She often begins with a mineral base, adds a bright citrus top, and weaves in a heart of aromatic herbs before grounding the blend with a warm amber. Her signature ingredients include Sicilian bergamot, Tunisian cedar, and a rare Madagascan vanilla that she extracts herself. She favors slow maceration, allowing the components to meld over months. The result feels tactile, inviting the wearer to explore texture as much as scent.

    Philosophy

    What drives Zoe

Zoe believes fragrance should translate a moment into scent, not merely mask it. She starts each brief by isolating a single memory or texture, then builds layers that echo that impression. Transparency guides her ingredient choices; she prefers raw extracts that retain their natural character. Sustainability informs every decision, from sourcing to packaging, because she feels a responsibility to the ecosystems that provide the raw notes. Collaboration fuels her creativity, yet she retains full control over the compositional process, ensuring each bottle reflects her personal aesthetic.
