    Sylvie Jourdet

Sylvie Jourdet grew up far from the perfume capital of Grasse, yet she turned a pharmacy degree into a fragrant calling. While studying medicinal chemistry, she discovered a fascination for scent composition and enrolled at ISIPCA, France’s premier perfumery school. After graduating, she launched her own laboratory in 2000, giving herself full creative control. The same year she joined Créassence as perfumer‑designer, where she crafts scents that match specific moments and moods. Her peers elected her chair of the French Perfumer Society, and she now serves on the board of the International Society of Perfumer‑Creators. Sylvie also teaches at ISIPCA, sharing technical rigor and artistic curiosity with the next generation. Her career reflects a blend of scientific precision and intuitive artistry, earning her respect among independent creators and major houses alike.

    The signature

    How Sylvie composes

Sylvie favors a methodical build‑up, starting with a clear accord and layering supporting notes one by one. She often reaches for citrus top notes, clean aldehydes, and aromatic herbs to create a crisp opening. Mid‑layers feature nuanced florals such as jasmine absolute or orange blossom, balanced by subtle spices like pink pepper. Her bases rely on well‑aged woods, amber, and fine musks that provide depth without overpowering. She prefers natural isolates when they offer a clean signature, but she does not shy away from synthetics that deliver consistency and longevity. The result is a fragrance that feels both precise and alive.

    Philosophy

    What drives Sylvie

Sylvie believes that a fragrance must answer a concrete need, whether it greets a sunrise or closes a day. She treats each brief as a problem to solve, matching raw materials to the emotional tone the client seeks. Her scientific background drives her to test stability and skin interaction early, while her artistic side listens for the subtle shift that turns a blend into a memory. She values transparency in sourcing and strives to let each ingredient speak without unnecessary adornment. For Sylvie, the best perfume respects both the wearer’s skin and the moment it inhabits.
