The Story
Why it exists.
The Angels' Share concept comes from Kilian Hennessy's own history, an heir to a cognac dynasty who chose scent over spirits. The Angels' Share is the portion of cognac that evaporates while aging in oak barrels, said to be taken by the angels. It's a loss that becomes something mythic. This intense extrait de parfum pushes further than the original EDP and On the Rocks variants, moving into territory that's warmer, richer, and more intimate. Benoist Lapouza brings his expertise as the nose behind this concentrated expression, working with the house's signature cognac note to create something that feels both familiar and newly imagined.

The Beginning
The Angels' Share concept comes from Kilian Hennessy's own history, an heir to a cognac dynasty who chose scent over spirits. The Angels' Share is the portion of cognac that evaporates while aging in oak barrels, said to be taken by the angels. It's a loss that becomes something mythic. This intense extrait de parfum pushes further than the original EDP and On the Rocks variants, moving into territory that's warmer, richer, and more intimate. What makes this interpretation different is the addition of Bulgarian rose oil and Venezuelan tonka bean absolut alongside the signature cognac-oak base. Where the original Angels' Share leaned into hazelnut and oak, Paradis layers rose and caramel into the heart, then grounds everything in praline and sandalwood. The result is a fragrance that feels less like walking into a cellar and more like sitting beside one, warmth without proximity, intimacy without intrusion.
The Evolution
The opening hits first: bright raspberry and cognac arrive together, the fruit keeping the spirit from becoming too heavy. Raspberry does the flirting, cognac does the committing. Over the next few hours the heart emerges, Bulgarian rose oil and caramel tonka bean, a sweet and velvety middle that softens everything. By hour three, the cognac warmth gives way to oak and praline. Sandalwood and vanilla wrap around the skin like a half-remembered conversation. This is the part that stays. Lingers. Settles into clothes and stays there long after the wearer has moved on.
Cultural Impact
Angels' Share Paradis joins The Liquors collection alongside the original EDP and On the Rocks variant, presented in the extrait de parfum format that signals serious intention. This is a fragrance designed for people who want the story without compromise, those drawn to the By Kilian ethos of luxury and narrative depth. The Bulgarian rose and cognac notes play against the praline drydown with particular interest, creating a warm, intimate character that distinguishes it within the line.

The opening hits like a late-night bar, cognac and raspberry, warmth with intent. The heart softens into rose and caramel, a temporary sweetness before the oak and sandalwood drydown settles in for the long haul. This is a fragrance that knows when to stop talking.
