    Wide Society was founded in 2018 by a loosely organized collective of fragrance enthusiasts based in the Netherlands. The founders, who describe themselves as a "wide society" of friends and independent perfumers, sought to create a platform that could launch experimental scents without the overhead of a traditional house. Their first public offering, Up in the Air, appeared in the spring of 2018 and was followed quickly by Nubes, Sign of Times, Suite#6, Night Train and Acqua Travelis, all released within the same year. The rapid succession of launches demonstrated the group’s ability to coordinate production, design, and distribution on a tight timeline. Coverage on Fragrantica and Basenotes documented the brand’s debut, noting the minimalist packaging and the decision to limit each launch to 500 bottles.
