Heritage
A house, in its own words
Via Paris Parfums opened its doors in 2012 in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. The founders, a small group of fragrance enthusiasts with backgrounds in art direction and chemistry, wanted to create a platform where independent perfumers could present their work without the constraints of large houses. The first launch, Laloa, arrived the same year and quickly attracted attention on niche fragrance forums for its airy composition and understated branding. In 2014 the brand added Secrets de Doline, a scent that references the hidden waterways of the city, demonstrating a willingness to draw inspiration from Parisian geography. The following year saw the introduction of Laloa Blue and Laloa Pink, variations that experimented with colour‑coded olfactory themes while keeping the original’s structural integrity. By 2018 Via Paris Parfums opened a modest boutique on Rue des Archives, allowing customers to experience the fragrances in a curated setting and to meet the creators behind each bottle. 2020 marked a shift toward sustainability when the house announced that all new releases would be housed in recycled glass and that raw materials would be sourced from certified organic farms where possible. In 2022 the brand celebrated its tenth anniversary with a limited‑edition release, Laloa Paris by Night, which combined night‑time notes of amber and vetiver with a matte black bottle, underscoring the house’s commitment to evolving its visual language while staying true to its Parisian roots. Throughout its decade of activity, Via Paris Parfums has remained independent, avoiding acquisition offers and maintaining a focus on artisanal production, a stance confirmed by multiple interviews with the founders in niche perfume publications. The house describes its creative vision as a dialogue between memory and place. Each fragrance is conceived as a narrative fragment that captures a specific moment in the city – a sunrise over the Seine, a quiet courtyard in Le Marais, the scent of rain on cobblestones. Via Paris Parfums values authenticity, so the team works closely with perfumers to ensure that the story behind a scent is reflected in its structure. The brand avoids generic marketing language, preferring instead to let the perfume speak for itself. Sustainability is woven into the philosophy; ingredients are chosen for both olfactory quality and ecological impact, and packaging decisions are guided by a desire to reduce waste. The house also embraces a collaborative spirit, inviting emerging perfumers to develop limited editions, which fosters a sense of community within the niche market. This approach aligns with the broader French tradition of craftsmanship that respects heritage while allowing room for modern interpretation.
