Heritage
A house, in its own words
Princess Marcella Borghese arrived in New York in 1956 with eight lipsticks, three models, and an aristocratic vision. Born into the historic Italian Borghese family, she was married to Paolo Borghese and carried centuries of noble heritage into the beauty industry. She partnered with Charles Revson, founder of Revlon, to launch Princess Marcella Borghese Inc. in 1957, which would later simplify to Borghese. The brand quickly established itself as a bridge between Italian spa traditions and American beauty counters, offering cosmetics and skincare infused with Mediterranean ingredients and thermal waters. Over the decades, Borghese expanded into fine fragrances, with the 1978 release of Di Borghese EDP becoming a signature scent. The princess passed away in 2002, but her belief in self-care as a necessity continues to drive the brand forward. For over 65 years, Borghese has maintained its commitment to bringing Italian spa rituals into homes worldwide. Borghese was built on the belief that self-care is a necessity, not a luxury. The brand translates traditional Italian thermal spa practices into products for everyday use, making high-end skincare and fragrance accessible without compromise. Every product draws from time-honored Italian natural ingredients and methods passed down through generations. What sets Borghese apart is its ability to combine noble heritage with modern accessibility. The brand refuses to treat luxury as distant or unattainable. Instead, it creates experiences that feel personal and intimate, bringing the warmth of Italian hospitality into daily routines. This philosophy extends to their fragrance work, where each scent aims to evoke sensory pleasure and well-being rather than mere aesthetics.
