Heritage
A house, in its own words
The story of Casa Amalfi begins with founders Ivan and Simonetta, who returned to their hometown of Naples in 2019. After time away, the pair came back to Southern Italy and found themselves重新 inspired by the landscapes, flavors, and sensory traditions of their homeland. This homecoming sparked the idea for a brand that could capture and share the magic of Italian coastal living with a wider audience. Rather than building purely from memory, the founders partnered with Luca Maffei, an acclaimed Milanese perfumer, to translate their personal vision into fragrance. The collaboration brought Northern Italian technical precision together with Southern Italian emotional warmth. The brand takes its name directly from the Amalfi Coast region, one of Italy's most storied coastlines, historically a maritime republic and a place where lemon groves cascade down cliffsides to meet turquoise waters. While the brand officially launched its perfume collection in 2025, the foundations were laid years earlier through careful formulation work and the refinement of a broader lifestyle collection that includes ceramics, body care, and home goods. Casa Amalfi operates from a philosophy of capturing the Italian concept of dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing, that defines life on the Amalfi Coast. The founders believe that fragrance should function as a memory trigger, transporting wearers to specific moments: the first sip of limoncello on a terrace, the scent of salt on sun-warmed skin, the jasmine that drapes over village walls in evening air. Rather than pursuing abstract concepts or exotic ingredients disconnected from origin, the brand grounds its work in specificity. Each fragrance carries a reference to a particular place or ritual in Italy, from the famous sea cave of Capri to the morning coffee culture of Positano. The creative process prioritizes emotional authenticity over trend-following, aiming to produce scents that feel personal rather than fashionable. This approach extends to the broader product line, where ceramics and home goods are designed to complement the sensory world created by the fragrances.
