Heritage
A house, in its own words
YANI emerged in 2022 with the launch of Silver Beach, the house's first documented fragrance and the entry point to a catalogue that has since grown to include dozens of releases. Within its first two years alone, the brand produced notable editions such as Cinnamon Angel (2023), Fairies Story (2023), Little Black Fish (2023), Alp (2023), and Shalizar (2023), before expanding further in 2024 with Tehran, Shiraz, Horaman Jungle, and Ruby in Tehran. The naming pattern across the line points to a clear through-line: many titles reference Iranian cities, landscapes, and cultural touchstones, while others venture into fable and nature. This dual register suggests a house in dialogue with a specific homeland while also exploring universal themes of place and imagination. As of the most recent database entries, the catalogue extends into 2026, indicating an active and ongoing release schedule. Independent third-party fragrance databases, rather than the brand's own materials, serve as the primary verification source for YANI's release history and output volume. YANI's creative direction appears guided by a fascination with place, memory, and narrative. Fragrances such as Tehran, Shiraz, and Horaman Jungle anchor the house in the geography and atmosphere of Iran, each title functioning almost like a postcard from a specific locale. Others, like Fairies Story and Little Black Fish, pivot toward myth and folklore, indicating that YANI treats scent as a medium for storytelling rather than purely as a vehicle for olfactory performance. The coexistence of culturally specific references with more whimsical, fable-like titles suggests a philosophy of duality: rooted in heritage while remaining open to imaginative invention. This balance allows YANI to address wearers who seek both familiarity and escapism in a single bottle.
