Heritage
A house, in its own words
Thauy emerged from the shared enthusiasm of a small group of female entrepreneurs who wanted to translate their love of scent into a business. Early interviews and third‑party articles describe the founders as two (later reported as three) women who combined their backgrounds in retail and design to create a boutique perfume label. The company debuted its first collection in the early 2020s, though the exact launch year varies across sources. By 2021 the brand released Althea and Nakht, establishing a foothold in niche perfume circles. In 2022 the Agape fragrance arrived, followed by a limited‑edition version in 2023 that highlighted the label’s willingness to revisit and refine its own creations. The Power of Resilience Collection, announced on Instagram in 2025, added seven new stories to the lineup, each meant to mirror a personal journey. Throughout its growth, Thauy has maintained a focus on independent distribution, partnering with select specialty retailers across the United States and a handful of international boutiques. The brand’s evolution reflects a steady expansion of its scent library while keeping the original vision of storytelling at its core. Thauy treats perfumery as a form of narrative art. The house believes that scent can capture a memory as precisely as a photograph, and each bottle is intended to serve as a reminder of a specific chapter in a wearer’s life. The brand’s statements emphasize authenticity, encouraging customers to choose a fragrance that aligns with their own story rather than following seasonal trends. Collaboration with Master Perfumer Daniel Josier underscores a commitment to craftsmanship that respects both tradition and personal expression. Thauy also highlights sustainability in its sourcing decisions, favoring ingredients that are traceable and produced with minimal environmental impact. The company’s communication often references the idea of “signature chapters,” inviting users to build a personal library of scents that evolve alongside them.
