    A house, in its own words

    SOBER entered the niche market in early 2023, launching its first batch of city‑centric fragrances from a small studio in Copenhagen. The founders – a collective of perfumers and designers who preferred anonymity – chose the name to signal restraint and focus, rejecting the excess often associated with luxury fragrance houses. The inaugural release, Borneo, arrived in March 2023 and was followed by a rapid rollout of nine more scents within the same year, each named after a distinct locale. In 2024 the brand expanded its palette with Okinawa, a composition that introduced marine accords to the otherwise terrestrial series. Throughout its first two years, SOBER kept production limited, distributing through a curated network of boutique retailers and its own e‑commerce platform. The brand’s modest growth attracted attention from independent fragrance blogs, which highlighted its disciplined approach to storytelling through scent. By late 2024 SOBER had secured a partnership with a sustainable glass manufacturer in Sweden, ensuring that every bottle met the company’s environmental standards.
