A house, in its own words
Philly & Phill emerged in 2009 when founders Tanja Bublitz and Stefan Cozma transformed their personal love story into a fragrance house. Based in Germany, the couple established the brand as a niche operation distinct from mainstream perfumery, prioritizing emotional resonance over commercial appeal. The name itself reflects the duality of the founders, a constant interplay that shapes the creative direction. By 2010, the house launched its first collections, including Out at the Opera and Boudoir Belle Rose, signaling an ambition to explore diverse scent territories. Midnight on Max Street followed in 2012, deepening the urban narrative threads. The subsequent years brought releases spanning oud-heavy compositions and lighter confections, demonstrating range. By 2020, Eve Goes Eden reflected evolved sensibilities, while 2022's Faith for Fantasy showed continued growth. The house maintains a presence at artisan perfumery events, including Esxence in Milan, positioning itself within the artistic fragrance community.
Philly & Phill operates on a core conviction: fragrance should make you feel something. The brand rejects the idea that perfume is simply a grooming product, instead treating each release as an emotional document. Their creative process centers on real encounters and lived experiences, transforming moments of connection into olfactory narratives. The brand describes itself as representing a symbiosis of tradition and modernity, acknowledging perfumery's historical foundations while refusing conventional restraint. Desire, passion, and urban life anchor their thematic palette. Every scent functions as a chapter in an unfolding story, inviting wearers into a world where mystery and intimacy intertwine. This approach distinguishes them from houses focused purely on ingredients or technique, prioritizing instead the felt experience of wearing their creations.
