A house, in its own words
John Domjan established Örök Fragrances as a personal creative project that grew into a complete fragrance house. Based in Melbourne, he handles every aspect of production personally, from fragrance development to oil sourcing and packaging design. The choice of a Hungarian-derived name, pronounced ur-uk and meaning eternal, reflects Domjan's aspiration to create scents with lasting impact. The brand gained early retail validation when Lore Perfumery, an established Australian fragrance retailer, selected Örök for its offering. This partnership introduced the house to Australian fragrance collectors seeking narrative-driven alternatives to mainstream options. The brand's approach treats fragrance as a storytelling medium, with each scent designed to evoke specific places and experiences rather than following conventional fragrance house templates. All five fragrances in the collection launched together in 2024, presenting a unified creative vision built around interconnected stories and sensory memories. Örök operates on the belief that fragrance should serve as a vehicle for memory and experience. Rather than following traditional fragrance house models, the brand centers each scent around a specific narrative, inviting wearers to inhabit moments and locations through scent. This approach positions fragrance as an immersive experience rather than a simple cosmetic product. Domjan has spoken about the importance of controlling every element of production, ensuring the narrative vision remains intact from concept to consumer. The brand explicitly rejects traditional luxury positioning, instead emphasizing that fragrance should be designed for every body. This inclusive philosophy extends to the creative process, where each fragrance aims to create an emotional connection with its wearer. The narrative-driven method means every scent carries intentional storytelling, transforming the act of wearing fragrance into something more personal and meaningful.
